Yes it's getting close and we have been SO busy, but we still have some amazing things in store, here is a sample of just a few:)

Are we there yet?

On car trips with kids we like to play a little game we call Guess the Animal. Someone gives some choice clues and away the carload goes until the mystery critter is revealed. But the animals have been getting more and more dubious of late. They could be extinct, mythical or literary. Try going through all the world’s animals beginning with B only to discover it was a Brachiosaurus! A beast whose fossil was first discovered in 1903 in the Grand River Canyon of Colorado, as we discovered on googling how to spell it. Next trip, inspired by bob, I’m going to start with “I’m thinking of an animal beginning with Y”. Want some clues? It could be a snow, grass or mud variety. It’s your classic quiet achiever. Doesn’t say much, but you know by looking at it there’s a quirky kind of wisdom lurking behind those dark eyes. Give up? Yeti! Talk about a big trip… one lucky Snow Yeti is on its way via air mail to Paris this week. A lovely lady from the baguette city who popped into bob chose him as a birthday present for her niece. Au revoir dear Yeti! Lucky for us they’re quite good multipliers… there’s more in store, lovingly designed and handmade in beautiful Bendigo, $40.

Finally I hear you all sigh....

Finally bob has taken the plunge and we are now on social media, yes you have been asking us for years and years and years.. well we have listened to you and we are now on facebook and instagram...please support us there:) But we don't want to let go of our lovely little blog-so instead of product info. on the bob blog we have decided to write little cute stories about the goings on in the shop and behind the scenes. So many funny and sweet things happen so if you are up for a cute quick read, follow our blog:)

Sophie Cooper exhibits at bob:)

Sophie Cooper from Sydney currently has a show of work at bob. We are so lucky to have her gorgeous bright designs printed on wood and framed and printed on stunning comfy cushions! We love Sophie's designs that are so cute, we also have a range of her pretty jewellery in store.

The Best time of year!

to everyone who came to our party on Saturday, thanks so much, it was wonderful to see everyone. The shop was so busy we didn't even have a chance to take some photos, there was a great vibe in store and it was so full of love for bob. We are so excited about our Birthday on Saturday and if you are already a member you will know that this is the day that you get 20% off...yeah! As you know when you are a member we have special member days that are filled with new stock and lovely things - This one is no exception - we have gorgeous new stock including new christmas pretties. Leah Hartley exhibition - Masquerade ON NOW

We are so excited to welcome back Leah Hartley with her amazing illustration prints. We have divine A3 prints on our walls and a selection of textured cards as well. Leah Hartley is a local designer. In 2011 she began The Quircus a vibrant and fantastical land through which Leah escapes to explore her love of illustration. The imagery that forms Masquerade inhabits a world inspired by fairytales and mythology. Influenced by graphic style, clean lines and limited colour palette.

NEW bob GIRL xxx

We are SO excited to introduce our new bob girl Lauren Mitchell. Lauren will be at the bob shop as our new retail chick, social media guru and general kind smiley person:) Drop in and say hi:) Here is myself and Lauren in the new Bendigo Magazine. Brilliant article by Amy Doak and such a warm beautiful photo by David Field, thank you all for such a wonderful article that we will treasure. Also in the Bendigo mag this issue is a beautiful interview with one of my most loyal and amazing customers Lisa Darby, it was so incredible to read what she had said about us here at bob- we were overwhelmed:) thanks so much Lisa and wonderful other people who mentioned bob as their place to come for a beautiful shopping experience. xxx we love creating things for you all. thank you x

Writers Festival bob is open:)

The wonderfully inspiring writers festival is back on this weekend. We will be open on Sunday 11-3, come in for a visit, we have just stocked up on some more John Holton "from here to home" and have Lauren Mitchells upbeat in Bendigo back on the shelf. It was wonderful to see Lauren from hello poppet interview a couple of my favourite bloggers Katie from House of humble and Bryley from I heart Bendigo it was a really relaxed and motivating chat - well look at me I've just got home and I am blogging, so it must have been good:) I wanted to meet a few people in that audience too but I missed them, especially Tania from Petite Pixels-sorry I missed you...catch you next time:)

NEW Sonia Brit Cushions

The cutest cushions have just appeared at bob boutique. We know Sonia designed these classic red riding hood characters about 7 years ago but they are still going strong and finding news fans, especially now with our home wares finding their way into many a bedroom, lounge and car. In store now!

we are sad but happy for Lauren :)

We have had to say goodbye to our beautiful caring shop girl Lauren:( We will all miss her SO much. But she has had a job opportunity she just couldn't refuse in the area that she is studying and so passionate about...natural health. Mum and I have been so blessed to have Lauren especially through the tough times, we have been so lucky to have someone so wonderful to rely on. It has been such a pleasure working with her and we all wish her the best of luck in her new adventure...we will miss her so much and I'm sure our customers will too. She is still a big part of the bob team and you may see her occasionally taking a shift here or there if we are busy and she is still doing the instagram for us, so she is still around, just behind the scenes. We have chosen our new bob girl and she is waiting in the wings... she will be revealed very soon, half of Bendigo will know her already and she is another beautiful soul perfect for the bob ethos of caring kind service and happy things:) Keep posted for more and join our bob blog or instagram. hugs all round for Laurens last day behind the bob counter.
